WODEF Participates in USAID Nuru ya Mtoto Workplan Dissemination Meeting in Kisii

In December 2023, the Women Development Fund (WODEF) joined other local alliance partners in a workplan dissemination meeting spearheaded by USAID Nuru ya Mtoto. The meeting, held at Dallas Hotel in Kisii, brought together key stakeholders working to improve outcomes for orphans and vulnerable children and strengthen community-based programming.

Aligning for Impact

The dissemination meeting provided an important platform for partners to review and align on program priorities, strategies, and implementation plans. Discussions focused on enhancing coordination among local organizations to ensure effective delivery of services for vulnerable children and their families.

Strengthening OVC Programming

Participants explored ways to improve OVC programming through integrated approaches that address education, health, protection, and economic empowerment. Emphasis was placed on collaborative action to create safer and more supportive environments for children and adolescents.

Advancing Key Priorities

The engagement reinforced shared commitments to:

  • Ending sexual and gender-based violence
  • Promoting a HIV-free generation
  • Strengthening community systems to support vulnerable populations

WODEF participated as a local alliance partner with a specific focus on supporting and empowering young women and girls. Drawing from its grassroots experience, the organization highlighted the importance of investing in girls’ empowerment as a key strategy for strengthening families and improving outcomes for vulnerable children.

Through collaboration and a shared commitment to young women and girls, partners are building stronger and more resilient communities.
