WODEF Joins Local Alliance Partners to Strengthen OVC Programs in Kisii County

The Women Development Fund (WODEF), alongside other local alliance partners, actively participated in a collaborative engagement focused on strengthening programs for orphans and vulnerable children in Kisii County, Kenya.

The partnership forum, held at Nyakoe Hotel, was organized by PATH, Lifeskill Promoters, and the County Government, bringing together key stakeholders committed to improving the wellbeing, protection, and long-term development of vulnerable children and families within the county.

Strengthening Collaboration for Greater Impact

The engagement provided a platform for organizations to share experiences, align strategies, and explore innovative approaches to delivering effective OVC programs. Through dialogue and knowledge exchange, partners reinforced the importance of coordinated efforts in addressing the complex challenges facing vulnerable children, including access to education, healthcare, psychosocial support, and economic stability.

WODEF’s Contribution

WODEF highlighted its community-based approach to empowering young women and girls, recognizing that strengthening families and caregivers is central to improving outcomes for children. By integrating economic empowerment, capacity building, and community support systems, WODEF contributes to creating safer and more supportive environments for OVC.

Building Sustainable Systems

The forum emphasized the need for sustainable, locally driven solutions. Participants explored ways to enhance service delivery through partnerships, data-informed decision-making, and stronger coordination between community organizations and government structures.

A Shared Commitment

The collaboration underscored a shared commitment among partners to ensure that no child is left behind. By working together, organizations can leverage their strengths, expand their reach, and deliver more impactful, inclusive programs.

Looking Ahead

WODEF remains committed to strengthening partnerships and contributing to collective efforts that support vulnerable children and their families. Through continued collaboration with partners such as PATH, Lifeskill Promoters, and the County Government, WODEF aims to enhance community resilience and promote sustainable development in Kisii County.

Together, partnerships create stronger systems, and stronger systems create better futures for children.
