In June 2024, the Women Development Fund (WODEF) proudly marked a major milestone with the successful hosting of its first Vocational Center Graduation Ceremony, celebrating the achievement of 86 trainees who completed a six-month vocational skills training program.
This inaugural graduation stands as a testament to WODEF’s commitment to empowering young women and community members with practical, market-driven skills that open pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.
A Journey of Growth and Transformation
Over the six-month training period, the graduates underwent intensive, hands-on learning across various vocational fields. Beyond technical expertise, they gained essential life skills, confidence, and entrepreneurial knowledge, equipping them to navigate both employment and self-employment opportunities.
The ceremony was filled with pride and inspiration as graduates reflected on their journeys, from acquiring new skills to overcoming personal and economic challenges.
Empowering Through Skills
WODEF’s vocational training program is designed to bridge the gap between education and economic opportunity. By providing accessible, community-based training, the initiative empowers young people, especially women and girls, to build sustainable livelihoods.
The 86 graduates now form a strong cohort of skilled individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to their communities and local economies.
A Step Towards Economic Independence
This first graduation was more than just a ceremony. It marked the beginning of new opportunities. Armed with practical skills and a renewed sense of purpose, the graduates are now better positioned to seek employment, start businesses, and improve their livelihoods.
Looking Ahead
The success of the June 2024 cohort lays a solid foundation for the growth of WODEF’s vocational programs. The organization remains committed to expanding its reach and impact, ensuring that more young women and underserved groups gain access to life-changing skills.
As these 86 graduates move forward, they carry not only certificates but also the confidence and capability to shape their futures. Congratulations to the pioneer class of WODEF Vocational Center. Your achievement is proof that skills training transforms lives.
